Products, aligned with their paper

Much of the legal risk in a software or AI product lies between what the product does and what the company has documented. For example, a privacy policy that denies data the platform holds, an agent that acts in a customer's systems under terms that do not mention it, or a sales deck that promises something impossible to honor. Enterprise counsel, regulators and platform providers read for that gap.

General Legal helps clients close the gap from the product side. We first map how the product works: what it does in each market, who approves key decisions, what data it collects and shares, and which vendors can access that data. From that map, we build a risk assessment the product team can act on and draft the legal documents to match.

Fix it in the product, then write it down

A contract allocates risk but does not remove a regulatory, platform or license exposure that arises from how the product works. Even where a contract shifts the cost of that exposure, enforcing it can lead to disputes with customers or vendors. We start with the product, where exposure can be addressed. Every matter is scoped and quoted up front, and led by an experienced attorney.
