General Legal (YC26) just became the first law firm in the world to be hired by an AI agent. We won't be the last.

Last week, one of our clients - an agentic AI start-up - suggested that we start marketing our law firm to agents, not just humans. So we set up a profile on rentahuman.ai and waited. And after 6 days of weird crypto spam from agents who did not seem interested or empowered to hire a lawyer, an agent actually looking for legal help on behalf of a human sent an inquiry. The agent "signed" an engagement letter on behalf of the human, and we counter-signed (via human.. how boring) even though they were asking us to review a contract that we don't currently support.
Agent-only deal I guess?
