Joshua Chang

Bio

Joshua is a patent and trademark attorney with 16 years of experience protecting innovation for technology companies. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley engineering and Harvard Law School. Based in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, the center of the U.S. technology industry, he has built his career across the full range of legal settings: large law firms, boutique practices, and in-house legal departments at Fortune 100 companies. He has worked with pre-seed stage startups to Fortune 500 companies, such as DoorDash, Salesforce, Boeing, SanDisk, and Google. That breadth gives him a practical understanding of how intellectual property decisions are made from the perspective of outside and in-house counsel and the businesses he serves. His specialty is IP strategy for emerging companies, where he helps founders and growing teams build IP portfolios that support their business goals, attract investment, and scale with the company.
